Perspective on Life's Challenges
"Struggle is inevitable, suffering is a choice." - Gregory Fodrea, M.Div., Ph.D.
The decision to change your perspectives and attitudes in order to create emotional and spiritual well-being can be difficult, and it doesn’t happen overnight. We ALL need a little guidance on that path from time to time. Do you ever wish you could:
• Heal from the traumas of the past and face your fears about the future?
• Enjoy nurturing, loving relationships with those who are important to you?
• Overcome fear, anxiousness, or anger and find peace?
• Find joy in life’s simple pleasures?
Take control of your emotional well-being
Build a heart-centered relationship
Promote heathy harmony in the home
Everyone deserves a little TLC!
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of what isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.” Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D.
ASPIRE Total Life Counseling (TLC) is committed to providing heart-centered guidance, wisdom, and practical tools to help its clients create lasting emotional well-being. The mission and calling of TLC’s ministry is to help our clients learn for themselves how to change their attitudes, habits, and negative assumptions about themselves and their world – to create for themselves a life filled with Joy, Unconditional Love, and Peace (JULP!).
What we do
What is Transpersonal Counseling?
TLC provides heart-centered advice and guidance on creating and maintaining an emotionally healthy life from a non-denominational spiritual perspective. Transpersonal Counseling takes a holistic view of emotional wellness, taking into consideration one’s spiritual well-being and relationship with God as important components of the overall quality of life. TLC does NOT conduct psychological counseling or treatment of specific mental illnesses, and instead uses talk-therapy and spiritual/metaphysical counseling through which you are empowered to take control of your OWN emotional wellness.
Gregory Fodrea, M.Div., Ph.D., is qualified as an alternative counselor and therapist and ordained ministerial counselor under ORS § 675.090 (f) and ORS § 675.825 (4)(a). He is NOT a “Licensed Professional Counselor,” “Therapist,” “Psychologist,” or “Psychiatrist” as defined by Oregon State Law and governed by the respective State Boards. He CANNOT, by law, diagnose, assess, or treat specific psychological or medical illnesses, and the services at TLC are NOT intended as a replacement for qualified mental health care. TLC will always refer clients in need of such services to a qualified, licensed professional.
Reading Greg's book, "Perfectly Flawed" has really helped me put several things in perspective. I am happier than I have ever been and my family notices. There is JULP (Joy, Unconditional Love and Peace) in my life, and I am forever grateful.

Gregory Fodrea, M.Div., Ph.D.
Healing our emotional and mental health involves much more than just psychology. It is also a holistic, spiritual journey that involves our body, mind, and spirit. Gregory Fodrea, M.Div., Ph.D. has a unique understanding of what it takes to find joy, love, and peace in one’s life. Having undertaken a 15-year philosophic and spiritual journey of his own, drawing from the resources of psychology, spirituality, religion, and philosophy, he emerged from the turmoil of suicidal depression and self-destruction with a deep understanding of what causes our emotional suffering, and a strong calling to help others in their healing journey. Returning to school, he studied psychology, theology, philosophy, Christian counseling, and scriptural apologetics at Liberty University. Upon earning his Master of Divinity degree, he became an ordained minister and pastoral counselor, and then in 2016, he completed his Ph.D. in Transpersonal Counseling. He is also an Amazon “Top 20 – Self-help” author, and his book, “Perfectly Flawed – How to Stop Suffering & Start Living” introduced the world to his unique view of emotional wellness. He founded ASPIRE Total Life Counseling as a place where those in need on the Southern Oregon Coast – of ALL faiths, nationalities, orientations, and backgrounds – can find help grappling with life’s challenges and learn to create their own spiritual well-being.
